		<description>Blah blah extra stuff
or back home

I suppose if you’re here to learn about me, some background information may be desired. This is where you might find it, among other things.

I’ve made a considerable amount of music in the ambient/experimental realm. Alternate contexts in music has always been a fascination of mine, and I was quite taken by the idea of ambient music. Most of my solo output was created to document my early discovery of these genres, through which I gained experience using space and texture to drive affect. That being said, my interests as a listener of music have always been centric around timbre, which might explain my path into mixing and mastering.

The more structural aspects of my education led to me attend Lawrence University, where I ultimately recieved a degree in music theory and composition. Along the way, I picked up a love for electronic and electro-acoustic music, and developed a way of improvising with software using different looping techniques. While these techniques have morphed over the years (different software, different musical idioms, etc), I still find myself inhabiting that headspace to work on mixes.&#38;nbsp;

I’ve recently been interested in using subject matter to dictate the direction of a mix, plotting things out into three dimensions (near/far, ethereal/earth-esque, wide/focused) based on what the artist is feeling through their idea. It sounds somewhat obvious, but I think it’s easy to take technology for granted (i.e. “x method is for y instrument” etc*). It forces me to think beyond myself, which I like.
*this way of thinking has it’s place, but I don’t subscribe to the idea that there is always a “correct” way to do things (to be clear)

I’ve dabbled in making my own cables and various music gizmos, I could possibly make custom cables for you if you’d be interested.

I can also teach what I do. I’ve given a few lessons on a per-need basis to friends and friends of friends, and am happy to do more of this. I’ve also found myself giving bits of advice about gear or techniques every now and then, I’ve been told that I’m helpful in this capacity as well.&#38;nbsp;
